The workshops made one thing clear: private users expect a quick valuation with little manual input. Serving them would have required different workflows and communication. A B2C service could also have put Auto-i-Dat in competition with its own dealer customers. The team therefore chose to focus on B2B at that time.
The biggest UX challenge was vehicle configuration across different makes. Users identifying a vehicle by licence plate, vehicle identification number (VIN) or a photo of the registration document can move ahead quickly. Those who need more detail can also configure the model and equipment manually. These additional options needed to be available where required without burdening the quick entry path with mandatory fields.
