Meiko app redesign with product categories on a handheld smartphone

This independent design challenge reimagines the my Meiko app as a complete mobile shopping experience. The concept connects the loyalty card, product range, and personal advice across discovery, search, selection, and purchase. The designs shown here come from this challenge, which later led to a collaboration with Meiko.

Meiko is a Swiss specialist in high-quality pet supplies and pet nutrition. The existing my Meiko app connects a digital loyalty card with points, rewards, and promotions. Our challenge asked a broader question: what if it became a complete mobile shopping experience that brought expertise, product range, and loyalty into one product?

The redesign therefore begins with the shopping journey rather than individual screens. Inspiration, targeted search, filters, product comparison, and the final decision all follow the same logic and visual language.

Dog, Cat, and Owner create understandable entry points into a broad product range. Visual theme cards provide orientation, while search and categories open a direct route to specific products. The primary navigation keeps Home, Shop, Search, and Loyalty Card available at all times.

Visible filters make the current selection context easy to understand in the product list. Criteria such as pet size or allergies remain present and can be changed directly without sending people through nested menus.

The product detail page brings large product imagery, price, rating, delivery information, and key attributes into a clear sequence. The information that supports a confident purchase decision receives the strongest emphasis.

The design challenge led to a separate commission from Meiko. In a lab project lasting around two weeks, we developed ideas and new approaches to improve the online shop. The concepts were intended for internal exploration.
